ARMA International Offers Recommendations for Federal Electronic Records Management

    Sep 13, 2016

In response to the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) request for comments on proposed revisions to the federal government’s records management regulations, ARMA International urged the agency to adopt broader technical standards and best practices that are commonly used by records and information management practitioners.

In a September 12 comment letter, ARMA International President Tera Ladner called for, among other things, expanded definitions of “electronic record,” “unstructured information,” and federal “employee,” as well as a tightening of NARA’s proposed rules on the use of personal e-mail accounts and associate nicknames or aliases.
