About ARMA
What does ARMA stand for?
Initially, ARMA stood for the Association of Records Managers and Administrators. Over time, the profession has expanded as records management has become an essential component of information governance, crucial for business operations. To align with this evolving landscape and the profession's growth, the association's board of directors chose to stop using ARMA as an acronym and instead adopted "ARMA International" as a general descriptor for the association.
How can I check if I already have an ARMA Profile?
ARMA has recently revamped its website. You can verify if you already have a profile by logging in here with your username (the email linked to your account) and password. Follow the instructions to recover your password or create a new account.

How do I access my membership, education, or purchase history?
This information will live in a different place on our website and will be part of your account profile and our Learning Management System (LMS). Log into your account to access your member benefits and purchases.
What does it cost to join ARMA?
ARMA International provides two tiers of individual membership: Professional and Associate. While joining a chapter is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged. Additional chapter fees may be required.
ARMA also provides Industry memberships for companies that supply products and services to information management professionals, as well as Corporate Packages that bundle individual memberships for businesses.
All payments are in U.S. dollars.
Is ARMA International's financial information available to the public?
Certainly. Please go to Guidestar.org to create an account. This will allow you to access past years' financial data through the 990 financial report.
How can I get a copy of ARMA's W-9 form?

About Membership
Which membership level is right for me?
Your professional role and career stage will influence this decision. The Professional membership is ideal for individuals who are either new to the field or looking to enhance their careers through ARMA's networking opportunities, educational resources, and events. Professional members enjoy discounts on almost all purchases, such as publications, event registration fees, and online training costs. Additional benefits for Professional members include e-newsletters, webinars, a mentorship program, and opportunities for volunteer leadership.
The Associate membership is intended for someone who is nearing retirement and wants to stay in touch with ARMA. Associate members are not able to vote in elections, participate as a chapter officer, or get discounts on purchases made through ARMA.
If I join as an Associate, can I upgrade to Professional Membership later?
Yes. If you'd like to upgrade during your membership cycle, please contact ARMA Member Services. To upgrade your membership during your renewal cycle for your next year of membership, you may do so yourself through the online renewal process.
Where do I update my contact information?
After you've signed in, under your Account you can update your account information, contact information, password, and more.
I’m leaving my job. Can I switch my ARMA membership to a different person?
ARMA memberships cannot be transferred or assigned. Each membership is issued to an individual, regardless of who paid for it. If a member departs from an organization, their membership remains with them. The person assuming records management duties is encouraged to become a new member.
Members should reach out to ARMA at armaservice@armaintl.org to update their contact details.
Note: Companies who have purchased corporate membership packages, can make updates to their packages at renewal.

Is ARMA Membership refundable?
Memberships with ARMA International are non-refundable.
Can I join just the local chapter of ARMA?
You must join ARMA International before you can join a local chapter. We salute your interest in ARMA's local chapters because they offer great opportunities for networking, for face-to-face education, and for so much more. The majority of ARMA members also belong to a chapter. To see if there is a chapter in your area, click here.
Can I add a Chapter Membership to my ARMA International Membership?
Absolutely! Joining ARMA's Chapter Community is an excellent opportunity to expand your network. Adding a chapter is simple. Just log into your ARMA account and select Add A Membership in the ARMA Store. Click here for detailed instructions.
How do I renew my ARMA Membership?
Access your ARMA Account to begin. Here, you can renew your ARMA International membership, upgrade your membership, or join a chapter.

How can I tell if I have an ARMA Membership? And how can I renew my membership?
To check to see if you have an ARMA Membership, log into your account here or at the Member Log In button at the top of the page. Once logged in, you'll see your profile page and on the right side it will show your ARMA Memberships and renewal dates.
To Add a Membership click on ARMA Store to get started. Click here for detailed instructions.
To renew your membership, click on the Renew button next to your membership information on the right side of your profile page. Or click on the ARMA Store and Add A Membership and follow the prompts.
How do I know if my membership is set to auto-renew? How can I add auto-renew?
To check to see if your membership is set to auto-renew, first log into your ARMA account.
Click My Purchases, and then click on Auto Payments. If you are set to auto-renew, you will see the list of your memberships pending renewal.
